It is inspired by the holiday " El Día de los Muertos" (or Day of the Dead). Although not always understood by many parts of the world, in Mexico (as well as some other parts of the world ) death is as much a part of life as life itself is. There is mourning and rejoicing; sadness and silliness - woven together into one emotional fabric. It has been liken to welcoming the return of a dear friend or relative, who moved far away and visits just once a year. They also have a humour that is applied to this colouful and intrguing celebration which shines though in many of the events that take place as part of the holiday.
This as well as other new Art Prints and Art Cards will be available in my online Esty Store soon (link to the left on this page). Please feel free to let me know what you think, or if you are intersted in any further details.
